The savannah can be felt far away, but it is closer then you think. In Käringsund in Eckerö, there is a huge game enclosure on 32 hectares where you can go on a game safari and see red deer, ostriches, llamas and wild boar up close.
The safari starts at Åland's Hunting and Fishing Museum and the trip takes about 45 minutes. During the tour we stop several times and you can get out of the carriage to see the animals closer. The tour carriage takes about 40 people and has a roof so the tour can also be held in case of rain.
At the entrance to the safari there is a small safari shop with coffee, soft drinks, ice cream, sweets and souvenirs. The safari shop also has meat products such as game sausage, smoked venison and wild boar meat and ostrich eggs, so remember to bring your cooler bag.
