5-course dinner at Natical restaurant

In summer, they open up the large outdoor terrace overlooking the sailing ship Pommern and the inlet of Mariehamn. The outdoor bar offers everything from beer to champagne and summer drinks. The house where the restaurant is located was built solely for the maritime museum when a group of Åland sea captains and shipowners took the initiative to found. In 1935, they formed an association, Ålands Nautical Club, to carry out the plans. One of the financiers was the Åland shipowner Gustaf Erikson. He owned many large sailing ships at the time, among them Pommern. Ever since the museum opened, the restaurant has been in the house. The atmosphere in the restaurant is largely preserved, although some changes have been made. The large fireplace is still in its original condition and the stairs up to the restaurant are almost authentic. The interior of the captain's salon, where smaller companies can have their meals, is well preserved.
