The tar market in April is an annual sign of spring in Åland. This traditional market is held with open houses and boats in the charming Maritime Quarter in Mariehamn. It is a time when residents and visitors come together to welcome spring and enjoy the maritime atmosphere. Here you can experience local handicrafts, taste some good Åland delicacies and admire the boats moored at the quayside.
Summer is the holiday when events change from one another with everything from festivals to markets and celebrations. Speaking of the nice warm evenings when you can sit and enjoy the sea at an outdoor restaurant, it is something to remember in the colder season.
In September, when autumn slowly but surely takes over and the leaves begin to shift in a variety of beautiful colors, you are invited to participate in the Harvest Festival in Åland.
