Markets, music and a wide range of events – while summer may be the peak season in Åland, there’s plenty to experience all year round.
Åland all year round
The tar market in April is a classic sign of spring in the Maritime Quarter of Mariehamn, where people gather to enjoy crafts, Åland delicacies and a maritime atmosphere.
Summer brings festivals, markets and late nights by the sea – perfect for al fresco dining and warm memories.
In September, the Harvest Festival celebrates autumn with local food, music and market activities.
As winter arrives, the Christmas streets light up and the Christmas markets spread the atmosphere with crafts, treats and maybe a meeting with Father Christmas.
