A person who was later found to have measles travelled on the M/S Eckerö from Grisslehamn to Eckerö on August 15th at 20:00, and continued by connecting bus to Mariehamn bus station upon arrival.
According to the Finnish Institute for Health and Wellfare (THL), the risk of infection spreading is low, partly because the person had been vaccinated. There are currently no signs of the infection spreading further.
As you travelled with us on the departure in question, we recommend that you check that your measles vaccination is up to date. Two doses of the MMR vaccine provide very good protection.
Common symptoms of measles include a fever, cough, a runny nose or conjunctivitis, followed by a rash a few days later. If you develop these symptoms, you should first contact healthcare services by telephone for advice before visiting a health center, so that the healthcare team can take appropriate infection control measures.
