Kafé Käringsund is open on all departures, where you can start your day with a perfect café breakfast with a selection of delicious options. Enjoy a steaming hot porridge, freshly boiled eggs, or sandwiches filled with medwurst, ham and flavorful cheese from Åland, all on bread from Ålandsbagarn and Ronjas bageri.

In the cold display, you will always find hearty sandwiches and delicious pastries such as slices of cake, almond tarts, and other pastries from Ronja's Bakery in Grisslehamn and from Ålandsbagarn. Sometimes you can also step into the café and smell the scent of freshly baked cookies or a delicious pie, then it's our café staff who have made homemade snacks available for sale.

Throughout the day we serve home-cooked meals, and here you will always find our delicious meatballs with mashed potatoes, a good fish and vegetarian option and several home-cooked dishes. The menu varies depending on the ingredients we have for the day. The home-cooked meals always include a salad bar.

Whether you are traveling with us in the morning, during the day, or in the evening, Kafé Käringsund is always open and serves you delicious and flavorful food and drinks. Please note that hot meals are served until 20.30 on the evening departure.

We are keen on serving appetizing and well-prepared meals.

To ensure quality, we conduct a survey organised by Marknadskraft AB, a research company. In the survey, the cafeteria received the following ratings in February 2024 from 694 respondents. The scale ranges from 1–6, where 6 is the highest and 1 the lowest.

Pirate room ship o’hoj

Step on board M/S Eckerö and enter the pirate room "Skepp o'Skoj", a place where your adventure begins. Here you will find a pirate ship with a steering wheel, compass and a slide for the brave pirates. This entire pirate paradise is decorated by the artist Jonas Wilén, who lives in Åland and is known for his drawings.

Next to the pirate room you will find a balance room with a small climbing wall and digital game consoles. It's a challenge for the little pirates to test their skills. But don't worry, because the cafeteria is right next door, so you can keep an eye on your little adventurers while enjoying a cup of coffee or something else delicious. The cafeteria also serves pirate meatballs and of course ice cream for the hungry little stomachs.

For all our small and big pirates, we also have a tricky quiz round. Take part in this fun treasure hunt with questions that will get you thinking. And you know what?
