Every autumn, Åland is transformed into a living countryside as root vegetables, honey and apples are harvested after the warm summer days.
The Harvest Festival is the highlight of autumn - a festival where local food, crafts, farm life and genuine Åland hospitality come together in a warm and cosy atmosphere. Thousands of visitors come here every year to enjoy the best the island has to offer.
For three days, from 19 to 20 September 2026, farms, small-scale producers, cafés and breweries invite you to an open house. You can wander through charming farms, taste local delicacies, meet animals, and learn about everything from food events to motor history in the maritime Quarter.
Excursion destinations and Plåpp Åpp
During the Harvest Festival, over 40 farms, food artisans, restaurants and small-scale producers open their doors to visitors. Each location offers something unique - from tastings and food to animal encounters, activities for children and sales of local produce.
Travelling to Åland is also part of the experience. Travel smoothly with M/S Eckerö from Grisslehamn to Eckerö in Åland.
The programme for 2026 will be updated in mid-August.
The Harvest Festival is part of Åland's culinary whole, along with the events Åland Grönskar in May and Åland Glimrar in December - three annual highlights that showcase the island's passion for local food and crafts. Eckerö Linjen is proud to be the main sponsor of the events.
