The savannah may seem far away in Åland, but appearances are deceiving. Käringsund in Eckerö is home to a huge 32-hectare game reserve where you can go on a game safari and see red and fallow deer, ostriches, llamas and wild boar up close.
The safari vehicle can accommodate about 40 people and the tour takes about 45 minutes. Start and stop are at the Hunting and Fishing Museum.
At the entrance to the safari there is also a small safari shop with coffee, soft drinks, ice cream, sweets and souvenirs. The safari shop also sells meat products such as venison sausages, smoked deer and wild boar meat and ostrich eggs, so remember to bring your cooler.
