Booking Terms for Group Day Trips to Åland

We strive to make your booking and travel experience smooth. To ensure that all details are clear, we have carefully formulated our booking terms for groups. Here you can easily get an overview of what applies when booking with us.

Name list/passenger registration/registration number
Please fill in the attached list of names. The completed list must be made available to us no later than 20 days before departure. We require the following information by law: first name, last name, gender, date of birth (YYYYMMDD), nationality and any information that may be required in a rescue situation.

When booking cars, the registration number must be provided before departure. If there are foreign nationals in the group, it’s important that you contact the Finnish embassy to check visa regulations (phone 08-676 6700). If you have booked meals please notify us of any food allergies either by phone or by e-mail at grupp@eckerolinjen.se. Remember to include the booking number.

Identity documents
Please note that valid proof of identity is always required on our trips and must be presented upon request.

Trip payment
Payment to Eckerö Linjen must be made no later than seven days before departure. Payment can be made by phone or via our website using credit card or Swish. The trip can also be paid for via BG 101-2145, then enter the OCR number. If you book your trip later than seven days before departure, the entire amount is paid at the time of booking.

Cancellation/changes in numbers travelling
In the case of cancellations later than 20 days before departure, our partners on Åland can charge any costs incurred as a result of the programme as booked. If the trip is not undertaken, 100% of the booking is charged. Cancellation rules and conditions for a bus booked via Eckerö Linjen. If you have booked a private bus via Eckerö Linjen, you can cancel the bus free of charge up to 8 days before departure. For cancellations 7–3 days before departure, a fee of SEK 5000 will be charged. For cancellations 72 hours or later before departure, a fee of SEK 8000 will be charged.

When booking a private bus, prices are based on 30 persons. If you are fewer than 30 persons, or the number decreases to fewer than 30 persons before departure, the following fees apply: for 29–25 persons SEK 6000. For 24–20 persons SEK 9000. For 19–10 persons SEK 12000. We pick up the entire group from Eckerö Linjen’s regular bus stops. If you wish to be picked up from another bus stop, an additional fee of SEK 2300 applies/one way.

If anyone in the group has behaved in a way that results in extra costs for cleaning, sanitation, or repairs the group will be charged SEK 2000 or the actual cost.

Check-in is one hour before boat departure
In Grisslehamn the group leader collects the travel documents and boarding cards at the information point inside the terminal. The group leader hands out the boarding cards. All vehicles must be cleared and ready for departure no later than 30 minutes before departure time. Groups arriving with Eckerö Linjen’s connecting buses check in immediately after arrival in Grisslehamn. If you are
delayed and likely to arrive late in Grisslehamn, you must call our reservations centre on 0175-258 00. Please leave your mobile number so that we can keep in constant contact.

Boarding by car
Everybody stays in the car when boarding. This rule also applies to the return trip.

Boarding by bus
Only the driver drives onto the car deck and then boards. All passengers proceed through the departure lounge. This also applies on the return.

Other things to consider for the trip
The local time on Åland is Finnish time, i.e. one hour before Swedish time. We always use local time in our bookings. The currency on Åland is the euro, but you can pay using kronor in most stores. You can also exchange kronor to euros at our onboard information desk.
